L'Appui Proches Aidants

L’Appui pour les proches aidants contributes to the development of a social conscience favourable to caregivers and to improving their quality of life. To this end, L’Appui supports the mobilization of caregivers throughout Quebec, and supports the advancement of regional initiatives to facilitate the daily lives of caregivers.

South-West Caregivers Group (in french only)

Do you regularly care for someone aged 50 or over? Is someone close to you losing their autonomy and you’re looking for information or support? Our team can help you find the right solutions for your situation. Get information on available resources and receive support through our conferences, discussion groups and workshops specific to the problems faced by caregivers. Our workshops are offered in LaSalle, Lachine, Verdun and Dorval. Individual meetings with a psychosocial counsellor are also available.

La Ressource d’aide aux personnes handicapées du Bas-Saint-Laurent, de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine is a non-profit organization dedicated to the social integration of people living with disabilities into all spheres of human activity. It works in concert with community and government organizations to improve the quality of life of people living with a difference, as well as that of their families.

Suicide.ca

Suicide.ca’s mission is to use digital technologies to prevent suicide. It informs and assists people with suicidal thoughts and behaviours; people worried about a loved one; people who lost someone to suicide; and people working with vulnerable clienteles. The suicide.ca portal was created by the Association québécoise de prévention du suicide (AQPS), which was mandated by the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) to develop a digital strategy for suicide prevention.

PasseportSanté.net is a website that provides professional health information. You’ll find information on diseases and treatments, as well as advice on prevention through physical and mental well-being. All content is validated by health experts: scientific journalists, academics and doctors.

Popote roulante du Québec (in french only)

Meals on Wheels (Popotes roulantes) is a Quebec-based service that has existed for over 50 years. It provides home-delivered hot meals to people who need support, allowing them to reside at home rather than in an institution.

Réseau de coopération des EÉSAD (entreprises d’économie sociale en aide à domicile)

The Réseau de coopération des EÉSAD (homecare social economy enterprises) brings together 100 EÉSADs in the province’s 17 administrative regions. They are recognized by the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) and offer home care and daily living services to people with loss of autonomy.

The AQCCA is a recognized non-profit organization that deals with the situation of seniors in Quebec. It brings together the affiliated seniors’ community centres in Quebec. It supports the work of their initiatives by offering various programs, such as professional development activities, information on available resources, newsletters and more.

Le Monastère des Augustines

As an extension of the Augustinian sisters’ hospital mission, Le Monastère offers to support people in a holistic approach to their health. This intention is reflected in a number of projects, some of which are aimed at those who provide care. Caregivers, companions and health and social service workers can take advantage of respite stays and resourcing activities designed for them and supported by la Fiducie du patrimoine culturel des Augustines (details on the service for caregivers).
