Daily cost
Families are charged $15 per day, the same rate as in 2008. This rate applies regardless of the time at which a baluchonnage begins or ends. Any day started is billed in full. The Agreement you will receive is the contract confirming your acceptance of the baluchonnage.
In the event of cancellation, the cost will be taken on by the family (except for exceptional reasons).
Transition day between two respite workers
If two respite workers are to work back to back during a baluchonnage, you will be billed for the transition period when they are both in your home ($30 for the day).
Mileage expenses
Travel during the baluchonnage (walks with your loved one, necessary errands, other outings) is billed at $0.55 per kilometer. The respite worker will discuss these costs with you and respect your wishes.
Purchases
We ask you to leave the money required for food and any other expenses (restaurant, cinema, etc.) authorized by you with the respite worker. When you return, she will give you proof of purchase and the balance of the money. No unnecessary purchases will be made.
Tax credit for home support for the elderly
Revenu Québec offers a 30% credit to people aged 70 and over for home support of an elderly person. The final invoice serves as a receipt for the baluchonnage payment. If you would like a more formal receipt, please contact us by phone (514 762 2667).
